Heritage Institute of Sustainability was established to bring Sustainable Business Solutions to Today's Business Challenges. Through engineering, energy management, creating sustainable processes, and employee training we can help any company reach its goals. We strategically plan our work and use engineering principles to ensure projects exceed customer expectations. Finally, we train our customers and their staff to ensure ongoing excellence in operations. Our team has a breadth of experience unparalleled in the industry. Not only do we have experience in analyzing hospital and university system performance, but also in analyzing fortune 500 companies’ systems and operational performance including Eastman Kodak, Conoco Philips, Texas Instruments, and various fortune 100 companies including Avial Aircraft, and many other commercial and industrial companies. HIOS leadership has 36 years of experience in facilities management. 16 of those years entailed directing the operations of UT Southwestern Hospitals and Clinics as AVP of Hospital Facilities. HIOS leadership was actively involved in negotiating pricing of multiple energy contracts at UT Southwestern. HIOS Leadership was also responsible for Energy Management, including tracking Energy Use Index, (EUI), and creating strategic plans for energy reduction. We saved millions of dollars at UT Southwestern identifying many low cost-no cost initiatives to save money. We have trained many user groups on the importance of following operational standards. HIOS leadership has strong project management experience including acting as the owner’s representative for a water treatment plant in East Texas. Our team applied for USDA grant funding as well as funding from the Texas Water Development Board. We brought together the design team to design $6.5M in plant renovations. By assessing energy use of the plant, we determined we could save over $4.5M in energy and maintenance expenditures over the life of the project. HIOS leadership holds a professional engineering license in the state of Texas, and is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. HIOS leadership has served on multiple board of directors including Helping Restore Ability, and has served as President of North Texas Association of Energy Engineers (NTAEE). Additionally memberships in ASHRAE and AEE are current. Attendance in other organizations such as NTREG and GDPC are deemed important activities for our team. HIOS currently holds contracts with the City of Dallas to conduct water audits, and third party reviews. We have multiple design and construction projects ongoing in buildings across Texas. We are fast and flexible in our work. Our customer service exceeds expectations.
